Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged girls and young women to dream big and pursue their aspirations with discipline, determination, and purpose.
She made the call during a ceremony marking three years of the Renewed Hope Initiative in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where more than 27,345 residents have benefited from the programme’s interventions.
Speaking at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu said ambition, preparation, and vision are essential for success, particularly among young women seeking to make meaningful contributions to society.
The First Lady, who serves as the National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, noted that the Dream Girls Project was created to inspire confidence, leadership, character development, and aspiration among young girls.
She also highlighted the importance of etiquette and protocol, stressing that such skills can play a significant role in personal and professional development.
Mrs. Tinubu commended the immediate past FCT RHI Coordinator, Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, for expanding the initiative’s impact and introducing innovative programmes that enhanced support for women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities across the six area councils of the FCT.
According to Benjamins-Laniyi, the initiative has positively impacted thousands of residents through various empowerment, welfare, and social intervention programmes over the past three years.
The event, themed “Our Stories, Her Impact,” celebrated the achievements of the initiative, which was established to complement President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda through people-focused programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and expanding opportunities for vulnerable Nigerians.
