At least five people have died after an Amazon Air cargo plane overshot the runway while attempting to land at Miami International Airport in the United States.
The Boeing 767-300, operated by charter airline 21 Air, crashed shortly before 2:00 p.m. local time after departing San Juan, Puerto Rico. The aircraft also struck several vehicles on the ground, leaving five people injured, three of them critically.
More than 200 firefighters responded to the crash site, where the aircraft caught fire and produced heavy smoke. The flames were later extinguished, although officials reported a fuel leak at the scene.
Authorities say the cause of the crash remains unknown and will be investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.
