The German Football Association (DFB) has appointed Jürgen Klopp as the new head coach of the national team, tasking the former Liverpool manager with restoring Germany’s place among world football’s elite.
Klopp, whose contract runs until the 2030 FIFA World Cup, succeeds Julian Nagelsmann following Germany’s disappointing early exit at the 2026 World Cup. The 59-year-old described the appointment as the pinnacle of his career and pledged to give his all in rebuilding the national team.
Klopp will officially assume the role on August 15 after ending his contract with Red Bull, with the DFB making a €1 million donation to the company’s Wings for Life charity foundation.
