Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has directed the state’s newly inaugurated commissioners, special advisers, and permanent secretaries to immediately begin work, stressing that there is no time for a learning curve as his administration enters its final year in office.
Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the Government House in Gombe, Yahaya urged the appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them by delivering effective governance and accelerating the implementation of government policies across the state.
The governor reminded the new officials that they have less than a year to make meaningful contributions, describing their appointments as a sacred public trust that must be discharged with integrity, discipline, and the fear of God.
Yahaya also commended the Gombe State House of Assembly for its prompt confirmation of the commissioner nominees, attributing the state’s developmental strides over the past seven years to the strong working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government.
He further praised the permanent secretaries for ensuring continuity in governance following the dissolution of the State Executive Council in April, noting that their commitment helped sustain uninterrupted public service delivery during the transition period.
