Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has ordered an immediate investigation into the collapse of a section of the new Gombe State House of Assembly Complex, which claimed the life of one construction worker and left seven others injured.
The incident occurred on Friday when a cantilevered entrance canopy at the multi-billion-naira project collapsed, trapping workers beneath the rubble. The governor expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and directed that all injured workers receive free medical treatment at the government’s expense. He also assured residents that the outcome of the investigation would guide appropriate action, while structural and safety experts assess the site to prevent future occurrences.
