The Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) and the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) have reinforced their partnership to improve the safe, efficient, and environmentally sustainable management of medical waste across Lagos State.
During a meeting at LAWMA’s headquarters, both agencies addressed concerns raised by health sector stakeholders on medical waste collection and disposal. HEFAMAA Executive Secretary, Dr. Victoria Egunjobi, stressed the importance of inter-agency collaboration in strengthening regulatory compliance and delivering effective waste management solutions.
LAWMA Managing Director, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to ensuring Private Sector Participation (PSP) operators comply with established regulations and international best practices while enhancing monitoring and enforcement across the state.
