The Lagos State Health Service Commission (HSC) has conducted an oversight visit to the General Hospital Somolu as part of its routine evaluation of secondary healthcare facilities across the state.
Commissioner IV, Mrs. Ololade Fadipe, who led the inspection, was received by the Medical Director/CEO of the hospital, Dr. Adesina Ayodele, alongside members of the management team.
Fadipe expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s level of compliance after assessing its operational and sanitation standards. She also commended the staff for maintaining a high level of service delivery despite space constraints, urging them to sustain their commitment to quality healthcare.
She assured the workers that their dedication and good performance would continue to yield positive results.
In his remarks, Ayodele appreciated the Lagos State Government for its continued efforts to improve healthcare delivery, particularly for residents of Somolu.
He commended Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for ongoing investments in the health sector, including the construction of a multi-million-naira mega hospital in Somolu.
Ayodele pledged that the hospital’s management and staff would continue to work towards providing quality healthcare services in line with the administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Development Agenda.
During the visit, Fadipe inspected key areas of the facility, including the site of the ongoing mega-hospital project.
The oversight visit is part of the Commissioner IV’s responsibilities, which include routine evaluation and compliance checks, inspection of operational, clinical, and sanitation standards; monitoring of assigned state-owned secondary health facilities; and assessment of healthcare delivery.
Fadipe also oversees patient care quality, identifies infrastructural and service gaps, evaluates hospital performance, and engages medical directors and healthcare workers on welfare, workflow efficiency, and commitment to duty.
As Commissioner IV, Fadipe provides supervisory oversight for six public health facilities in Lagos State: General Hospital Somolu, Harvey Road General Hospital, Mushin General Hospital, Isolo General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye General Hospital, and Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Yaba.
