The Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, has decorated 30 newly promoted senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force, comprising 13 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and 17 Commissioners of Police (CPs).
The decoration ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, formally marking the officers’ elevation following their recent promotions.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Anietie Okokon Edem Iniedu, the promotion recognises the officers’ years of dedicated, exemplary, and meritorious service to the nation.
Addressing the newly promoted officers, IGP Disu described their elevation as both an honour and a call to greater responsibility. He urged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and accountability while remaining committed to effective policing and improved service delivery.
The Police Chief also charged the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating exemplary leadership and renewed dedication to protecting lives and property across the country.
