Ikorodu has welcomed the approval for the establishment of a Command Secondary School at the 174 Battalion, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
The initiative is expected to expand access to quality and affordable education for children of military personnel, their families and residents of adjoining communities.
The approval was described as a significant step towards improving the welfare of Nigerian Army personnel and their families, while also providing an important educational asset for the wider Ikorodu community.
The initiative also received commendation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Chief of Army Staff and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for their roles and support towards educational development and human capital investment.
Residents of Ikorodu are expected to support the successful establishment and sustainability of the school, which is envisioned as a centre of academic excellence, discipline, character and opportunity.
The development is being seen as an investment in children, service families and the future of Ikorodu, Lagos State and Nigeria.
