A magnitude 6.2 earthquake has struck the Banda Sea near Indonesia’s Maluku Islands, according to the country’s geophysics agency.
The earthquake occurred on Friday at a depth of 143 kilometres (89 miles).
The agency said the quake had no tsunami potential, while there were no immediate reports of damage.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation.
