The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians against a fraudulent message circulating online claiming that the Commission has commenced the recruitment and training of ad-hoc staff for the 2027 General Election.
INEC said the message, which directs prospective applicants to a website purportedly created for the recruitment exercise, did not originate from the Commission. The electoral body described the platform as fake and urged members of the public not to click on the link, submit personal information, upload documents or make payments through it.
The Commission advised Nigerians to rely only on its verified communication channels and official website for authentic information concerning recruitment, elections and other activities. INEC noted that it had previously cautioned the public about fraudulent websites and fake recruitment advertisements falsely claiming to be associated with the electoral body.
INEC therefore urged the public to disregard and refrain from circulating the fake recruitment notice, stressing the need for Nigerians to verify the authenticity of online information before clicking on links or providing personal details.
