Grammy-winning singer Jill Scott has postponed the final four dates of the United States leg of her “To Whom This May Concern Tour” after testing positive for COVID-19. The decision affects scheduled performances in the Houston and Dallas areas as the singer prioritises her recovery and the safety of her fans and touring team.
Scott disclosed that she initially sought medical attention after doctors suspected she had a minor viral infection. However, subsequent testing confirmed that she had contracted COVID-19. Although the singer said she is feeling okay, she opted to postpone the remaining performances rather than risk exposing members of her audience, crew and other individuals to the virus.
The affected Houston-area concerts, which were originally scheduled for earlier dates, have now been moved to September 11 and 12, while the Dallas-area performances have been rescheduled for September 14 and 15. Fans who have already purchased tickets and packages will not need to buy new ones, as their existing tickets will reportedly remain valid for the rescheduled shows.
In a message to her fans, Scott expressed regret over the disruption caused by the postponement and apologised for having to change the tour schedule. The singer’s decision comes as health authorities continue to advise people who test positive for COVID-19 to take precautions to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus to others.
