The Chairman of Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State, Hon. Lawan Najume Kabo, has removed the council’s secretary and four political appointees over their alleged membership of the Tinubu and Barau Mobilisation Group (TMS).
Those affected include the Secretary to the Local Government, Abba Salisu Mewake Garo, alongside four other political appointees. The affected officials were reportedly removed during an emergency meeting presided over by the council chairman on Monday evening.
Some of the affected officials confirmed the development, saying their removal was linked to their involvement with the TMS, a group promoting the political interests of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senate President Barau I. Jibrin.
The development comes amid increased political mobilisation across Kano State ahead of the forthcoming general elections, with various groups and political actors stepping up efforts to strengthen their support bases at the grassroots
