The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has directed all registered intending pilgrims to submit their valid international passports on or before August 25, 2026, warning that failure to meet the deadline could result in the loss of their Hajj seats.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, issued the directive on Friday as part of efforts to complete the registration and documentation process ahead of the expected closure of the Saudi Arabian Hajj portal at the end of August.
Matawalle described the deadline as non-negotiable, explaining that the Board needs sufficient time to process the enrolment and documentation of pilgrims from Kano State.
He warned that any registered intending pilgrim who fails to submit a valid international passport by the stipulated date may not be allocated a seat for the 2026 Hajj.
The Director-General urged pilgrims who are yet to submit their passports to do so without further delay, stressing that the Board would not be responsible for consequences arising from failure to meet the deadline.
The Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman A. Dederi, said the directive applies to all registered intending pilgrims in Kano State.
The Board urged intending pilgrims to treat the deadline with utmost urgency to avoid disqualification and ensure they complete the necessary documentation for the 2026 Hajj exercise.
