The Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the sale of application forms for intending pilgrims for the 2027/1448 A.H. Hajj and Ramadan Umrah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Board’s Secretary, Mr. Abdul-Hakeem Ajomagberin, announced the commencement in a statement on Monday, urging intending pilgrims to register early and begin payment of fares in line with the timetable released by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and Saudi Arabian authorities.
According to him, the Hajj application form costs ₦20,000, while the Ramadan Umrah application form is ₦10,000, with payments to be made at the Board’s Accounts Department.
For the 2027 Hajj, intending pilgrims are required to make an initial deposit of ₦7 million through a bank draft drawn in favour of the Lagos State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board. Ajomagberin noted that the final fare would be announced by NAHCON, while the deadline for the initial deposit is September 2026.
Similarly, applicants for the Ramadan Umrah exercise are expected to pay an initial deposit of ₦5.7 million. Pilgrims were advised to collect official receipts for all payments made.
Ajomagberin explained that early registration would enable NAHCON to conclude visa processing, accommodation, airlift arrangements and other logistics with Saudi authorities ahead of the pilgrimage season.
He added that the Hajj and Umrah packages have been designed to provide a safe and comfortable spiritual experience, including accommodation within walking distance of the Haram, reliable transportation, daily breakfast and dinner, medical support, spiritual counselling and organised visits to historical sites in Makkah and Madinah.
The Board also announced that enrollment in the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) – Ilera Eko Health Insurance Scheme is now mandatory for all intending pilgrims. The health insurance registration costs ₦15,000 for individuals and ₦55,000 for families, ensuring access to healthcare before, during and after the pilgrimage.
Ajomagberin reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to transparency, accountability and quality service delivery, expressing confidence that, with the support of the Lagos State Government and NAHCON, the 2027 Hajj and Ramadan Umrah exercises would rank among the most successful in recent years.
