The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting women-led businesses with access to finance, technology and business development opportunities, as the third edition of W.O.M.A.N. 2026 concluded with a dedicated Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption bootcamp.
The two-day programme, organised by Alitheia Capital in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, brought together more than 300 women-led enterprises across manufacturing, agribusiness, food processing and nutrition.
The second day focused on digital transformation, with Google Hustle Academy facilitating practical sessions on the use of AI for business strategy, marketing, finance and daily operations. Participants explored how AI can improve productivity, strengthen decision-making and help businesses compete in an increasingly digital economy.
Speaking at the close of the programme, the Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Hon. Folashade Bada Ambrose-Medebem, described access to technology as essential for businesses seeking to scale.
She said AI could provide practical solutions for women entrepreneurs, including improving inventory management, reaching new customers and reducing production costs.
The Commissioner also highlighted the Lagos State Government’s partnership with Alitheia Capital, noting that initiatives such as LASMECO, LASERP and the Lagos State Industrial Policy 2025–2030 are designed to improve women-led businesses’ access to finance, markets and technology.
Also speaking, Alitheia Capital Co-Founder and Managing Partner, Tokunbo Ishmael, stressed the growing importance of digital literacy and responsible AI adoption, particularly for women entrepreneurs operating in online commerce and investment.
She encouraged participants to critically review AI-generated information and embrace continuous learning as technology continues to transform the business environment.
The Google Hustle Academy training partners further introduced participants to the fundamentals of AI, its practical applications for small businesses and ways to identify AI-generated content and verify digital information.
As part of the programme’s continued capacity-building efforts, participants will receive 12 months of access to Alitheia Capital’s Nzinga Digital Learning Platform, with additional training in financial management, investment readiness, export compliance and green manufacturing practices.
