The Lagos State Government has dismissed reports alleging the introduction of new traffic restrictions around the Sheraton Link Bridge inward Opebi Road, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, clarified that there have been no changes to existing traffic regulations within the corridor.
He emphasized that motorists should disregard the viral reports and rely only on official communication from the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation for accurate traffic updates.
Osiyemi also refuted claims that task force officials were extorting or targeting motorists in the area, stating that no such activity is taking place.
He urged residents and road users to avoid spreading unverified information, warning that misinformation could cause unnecessary panic and confusion among the public.
The commissioner further advised Lagosians to prioritize verified government channels for updates on traffic management and road use across the state.
