Lagos Gov’t reaffirms citizen-centred governance

The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening collaboration with civil society organisations and community-based groups as part of efforts to promote inclusive governance and sustainable development.

Speaking at the National Summit of Civil Society Organisations and Community-Based Organisations, the Lagos State Deputy Governor emphasised the need for Nigerians to prioritise national interest and work collectively towards building a stronger country.

He noted that the idea of “Nigeria First” should encourage citizens and institutions to put the nation’s progress above individual differences while fostering unity and shared responsibility.

The Deputy Governor described civil society as a vital partner in governance, stressing that constructive engagement between government and citizens helps improve decision-making and delivers better outcomes for the people.

He added that Lagos State would continue to maintain active engagement with residents, noting that policies achieve greater impact when they reflect the needs and experiences of the communities they are designed to serve.
