The Lagos State Government, through Health District III, has urged Medical Officers of Health (MOHs) across Eti-Osa, Ibeju-Lekki, and Epe to make data verification an integral part of daily Primary Healthcare (PHC) operations to strengthen evidence-based decision-making and improve health outcomes.
Speaking at the Second Quarter Data Review Meeting held at the District Headquarters in Ikoyi, the Permanent Secretary, Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, stressed the importance of accurate and timely data in evaluating health sector performance.
Describing data as the foundation of effective healthcare planning, Adeleke warned that Medical Officers of Health who fail to participate in data review meetings would face sanctions, noting that reliable reports and informed decisions depend on regular data validation.
She explained that the review, held from July 8 to 13, 2026, assessed first and second quarter performances across key PHC indicators, including routine immunisation, maternal and child health, disease surveillance, and other priority health programmes. The exercise also identified performance gaps, validated data, and developed strategies to improve service delivery across the three LGAs.
Adeleke reaffirmed Health District III’s commitment to strengthening Primary Healthcare through quality data management, accountability, and continuous performance monitoring in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ Agenda.
