The Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture (LSCAC), in collaboration with Rhoda Johnson Media (RJM), has successfully hosted the 2026 Eko Creative Summit, bringing together young creatives, industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, educators, and other stakeholders to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable growth in the creative sector.
Held at NECA House in Alausa, Ikeja, the summit served as a platform to equip emerging creative professionals with the skills, knowledge, networks, and opportunities needed to build successful careers and businesses within Lagos State’s expanding creative economy.
Representing the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Bopo Oyekan-Ismaila, the Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Taoreed Dosumu, reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to strengthening the creative industry as a key driver of economic growth, youth empowerment, tourism, innovation, and job creation.
He encouraged participants to continually develop their skills, embrace innovation, and forge strategic partnerships to remain competitive in both local and global creative markets.
In his welcome address, the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture, Mr. Idowu Johnson, described the summit as a strategic initiative designed to nurture creativity, promote entrepreneurship, and create an enabling environment for young talents to transform their ideas into sustainable and globally competitive ventures.
Speaking during one of the panel sessions, the Director of Administration and Human Resources at LSCAC, Dr. Busola Odedina, highlighted the state’s ongoing efforts to support the creative and cultural industries through programmes, partnerships, and training opportunities aimed at empowering young creatives and expanding their market reach.
A major highlight of the event was a series of four panel discussions covering career development, personal branding, media and public relations, music and entertainment, entrepreneurship, digital innovation, business sustainability, and collaboration. Each session featured interactive engagements that allowed participants to receive practical insights from leading professionals in the creative industry.
