The Lagos State Ministry of Waterfront Infrastructure Development has reaffirmed its commitment to quality assurance and effective project delivery through an inspection of ongoing dredging and construction works at Okunde Blue Water, Maiyegun and other project sites in the Lekki axis.
The inspection was led by the Honourable Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu, alongside the Chairman, House Committee on Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu, members of the committee and the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Oluwole Soretire Oluwole.
The exercise formed part of the Ministry’s routine oversight activities aimed at assessing the progress of projects, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and guaranteeing value for public investment in waterfront infrastructure.
During the tour, the delegation inspected ongoing works at the various sites and engaged contractors, engineers and project officials to obtain updates on implementation timelines, project milestones and operational challenges.
Speaking during the inspection, Hon. Alebiosu stressed that regular project monitoring remains essential to promoting transparency, accountability and the timely delivery of infrastructure that enhances the socio-economic well-being of waterfront communities.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to sustained monitoring of all ongoing projects to ensure the successful delivery of sustainable waterfront infrastructure in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Development Agenda.
