The Lagos State Ministry of Justice, through its Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), on Tuesday hosted Primary VI pupils of Air Force Primary School, Ikeja, on an educational excursion to the Ministry’s headquarters at the Secretariat, Alausa.
Welcoming the pupils, the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Adebayo Haroun, described the visit as a valuable opportunity to expose young learners to the workings of government institutions and the justice system. He encouraged them to take advantage of the experience to better understand the Ministry’s role in promoting the rule of law.
The Deputy Director, Directorate of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Babajide Boye, delivered a presentation on the functions of the DPP and the various directorates of the Ministry, highlighting their roles in ensuring effective justice delivery in Lagos State.
Speaking on behalf of the school, the Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Mr. Joseph Folorunsho, thanked the Ministry for the warm reception, noting that the visit had broadened the pupils’ understanding of the justice system and inspired them to aspire to careers in public service and the legal profession.
In her closing remarks, the Director of the Restorative Justice Centre, Ms. Yetunde Ajayi, encouraged the pupils to remain committed to their education, uphold integrity, and be law-abiding citizens.
