The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, is set to commence the 2027 Budget Consultative Forum on Monday, September 7, 2026, with the Ikeja Division hosting the opening session. The five-day consultation will take place across the State’s five divisions as part of the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance, citizen participation and shared prosperity.
The Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mr. Ope George, will lead the Ministry’s management team and officers during the consultations across the five IBILE divisions—Ikeja, Badagry, Ikorodu, Lagos Island and Epe. The Ikeja session will hold at the Multipurpose Hall, Radio Lagos, Agidingbi, and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
The forum will provide an opportunity for government officials, traditional rulers, Community Development Committees and Associations, professional and religious organisations, civil society and non-governmental organisations, trade associations, youth and women groups, private-sector stakeholders, People Living With Disabilities (PLWD), and other members of the public to participate in the budget process.
The consultation will enable stakeholders to identify key development priorities, highlight community needs and make recommendations that will guide the formulation of policies, programmes and projects under the 2027 budget. The engagement is also expected to strengthen citizen participation and ensure that residents’ concerns and aspirations are reflected in the State’s development planning and resource allocation.
