The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has commenced a three-day digital marketing training for 600 market men and women, SMEs, young adults and artisans across the state.
The training, themed “From Local Business to Global Market: Leveraging Digital Marketing for Business Growth,” is being held from Monday, September 28, to Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Women Development Centre, Agege.
Declaring the programme open, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Bolaji Cecilia Dada, said digital marketing has transformed how businesses connect with customers, urging participants to apply the knowledge gained to expand their businesses beyond their immediate communities.
She announced that participants would receive Android phones on the final day of the training to support their businesses, while transportation stipends would be provided for the first two days.
Facilitated by Liquid Luck Consulting, the training covers practical areas including competitor analysis, WhatsApp Business, business catalogues, customer engagement, financial management and online security.
Participants are also being trained to identify fake payment alerts and scam messages, while learning the importance of separating business finances from personal funds.
The programme also features sessions on domestic violence awareness, skills acquisition and healthy nutrition.
Beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, with some noting that the training had already improved their knowledge and helped them reach potential customers through digital platforms.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Rianat Ajibike Onigbanjo, urged participants to put the knowledge acquired into practice and use the opportunity to grow their businesses.
