The Lagos State Office of Local Government Establishments and Training (OLGE&T) has commenced a two-day capacity-building workshop for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) officers to strengthen digital transformation across the Unified Local Government Service.
The training, held from August 31 to September 1, 2026, at the OLGE&T Training Hall, is aimed at equipping ICT officers on Grade Levels 10–14 with the skills and knowledge needed to promote innovation, improve efficiency and enhance service delivery at the grassroots.
Speaking at the opening session, the Permanent Secretary, OLGE&T, Ms. Toyin Ogunlana, described ICT officers as key drivers of modern public administration. She urged them to move beyond their traditional technical roles and embrace their responsibilities as problem-solvers and development partners.
Ogunlana also stressed the need for continuous professional development and the adoption of emerging technologies to make government processes faster, simpler, safer and more effective across Lagos State’s 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas.
She said the initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s human capital development agenda under Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring that all cadres of the public service are equipped to participate effectively in the ongoing digital transformation.
