The Lagos State AIDS Control Agency (LSACA) has unveiled its 2025–2027 Strategic Plan on HIV, renewing the state’s commitment to strengthening prevention, testing, treatment and care while working towards achieving its HIV targets by 2027.
The Chief Executive Officer of LSACA, Dr. Folakemi Animashaun, made this known during the dissemination of the strategic plan held at BWC Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. She said the plan would provide a common framework for aligning HIV programmes, resources and partnerships towards measurable results across the state.
Animashaun noted that Lagos had recorded significant progress in its HIV response through expanded prevention, testing, treatment and community-based interventions. However, she identified persistent gaps, particularly in reaching underserved populations, strengthening prevention and testing, ensuring timely linkage to treatment, retaining patients in care and achieving viral suppression.
She urged stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, mobilise adequate resources and adopt evidence-based approaches to improve implementation. Animashaun reaffirmed LSACA’s commitment to coordinating stakeholders, monitoring progress and supporting evidence-based decision-making, while commending the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, government agencies, development partners, civil society organisations, communities and healthcare workers for their contributions to the state’s HIV response.
