The Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA), in collaboration with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has trained 100 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in digital skills as part of efforts to promote digital inclusion in Lagos State.
The two-day Digital Citizenship Training, held from September 9 to 10, 2026, at The Cordis Hotel, Alausa, Ikeja, focused on equipping participants with practical skills to navigate the digital space safely, responsibly and effectively.
Representing the General Manager of LASODA, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, at the opening ceremony, the Head of Monitoring, Evaluation and Orientation, Dr. Funmi Adekola, commended the NCC for promoting the inclusion of PWDs in its digital empowerment programmes.
Adekola also appreciated Fornido Development Limited for coordinating the training, expressing optimism that the knowledge gained would create opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and greater socio-economic participation among the beneficiaries.
The participants received certificates at the end of the training in recognition of their successful completion of the programme.
