The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has commenced enforcement of the 2026 parking permit regulations across its operational zones in the state, following the expiration of the extended grace period granted to customers.
LASPA General Manager, Adebisi Adelabu, said the grace period was provided to give registered customers enough time to regularise their operations and obtain the required 2026 parking permits. She noted that the authority had earlier issued Demand Notices outlining the applicable fees, requirements and procedures.
Adelabu expressed concern that some customers had yet to obtain their permits despite repeated reminders and direct communication from the authority. She urged all defaulters to immediately regularise their operations to avoid sanctions, stressing that the enforcement is aimed at improving order, accountability and efficiency within Lagos’ parking system.
She warned that customers who fail to comply with the 2026 Demand Notices could face substantial fines and immediate suspension of operations in line with the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018. Adelabu also urged the public to cooperate with enforcement officers and report unauthorised parking activities, while assuring customers that LASPA personnel were available to assist with registration and online payment processes.
