The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has urged residents of Ikorodu Division to register and ensure their details are captured in the state’s residents’ database to support effective government planning and service delivery.
Speaking at a sensitisation campaign and town hall meeting in Egbin Kingdom, LASRRA General Manager, Mrs. Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, said accurate residents’ data would help government better identify community needs and plan for infrastructure, education, healthcare and other social services.
She said the agency is taking registration closer to residents through traditional institutions, schools, healthcare facilities and other community-based locations. Particular attention is also being given to students in private schools, with registration being carried out free of charge.
LASRRA also encouraged previously registered residents whose personal details have changed to undergo validation and update their information while retaining their original registration numbers.
The Obateru of Egbin Kingdom, Oba Dr. AbdulHakeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, commended the initiative and urged residents, community leaders, market associations and other stakeholders to support the registration exercise.
