The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has launched its 3367 toll-free short-code hotline to enhance emergency response, improve traffic management, and strengthen public participation in road transportation administration across Lagos State.
The newly introduced hotline replaces the agency’s previous long-service code with a more accessible, technology-driven and user-friendly communication platform.
Available free of charge to subscribers on MTN, Glo and Etisalat (T2) networks, the service allows millions of Lagos residents to report traffic-related emergencies without incurring any call charges.
Through the 3367 hotline, road users can promptly alert LASTMA to incidents such as vehicle breakdowns, road traffic crashes, disabled trucks, stranded tankers, traffic obstructions, and other emergencies requiring immediate intervention.
The platform also provides residents with a direct channel to report the conduct, professionalism and operational activities of LASTMA officials, reinforcing transparency, accountability and improved service delivery within the agency.
To encourage wider public participation, callers can communicate with hotline operators in English, Yoruba or Pidgin English, ensuring that language does not become a barrier to reporting emergencies.
Speaking on the initiative, LASTMA General Manager, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the hotline as a major step towards building a safer, more efficient and technology-driven traffic management system in Lagos.
He said the deployment of the toll-free platform reflects the agency’s commitment to leveraging digital innovation to address modern transportation challenges while strengthening collaboration with the motoring public.
According to Bakare-Oki, the 3367 Toll-Free Short-Code Hotline offers residents a direct, convenient and cost-free means of reporting incidents that require urgent attention.
He noted that the rapid growth and complexity of Lagos as one of Africa’s leading megacities demand a proactive and technologically enabled traffic management system capable of responding swiftly to road transportation challenges.
The LASTMA boss assured residents that all reports received through the platform would be handled professionally, confidentially and promptly before being forwarded to the appropriate operational units for immediate action.
He urged residents to make full use of the hotline as a vital tool for improving road safety, promoting accountability and supporting efforts to build a safer, more efficient and sustainable transportation system across Lagos State.
