The overall best graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU), Adebanjo Samuel Oluolamide, has received a N10 million cash prize from the Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme in recognition of his outstanding academic performance.
Oluolamide, a graduate of Aerospace Engineering, received the award during LASU’s 29th and 30th combined convocation held on Monday at the Olatunji Bello Auditorium, Epe Campus.
He graduated with an impressive 4.97 CGPA out of 5.00, earning First-Class Honours and emerging as the overall best graduating student of the 2025/2026 academic session.
The Sunbeth Excellence Partnership Programme said the award is aimed at recognising exceptional academic achievement while encouraging excellence, innovation and intellectual development among students.
The achievement adds to Oluolamide’s growing list of academic accomplishments. During his undergraduate studies, he was named Scholar of the Year at the AESA-LASU Dinner for the second time.
He also disclosed that two of his research papers had been accepted for presentation at the Society of Petroleum Engineers’ NAICE 2026 Conference in Lagos.
Reacting to his achievement, Oluolamide attributed his success to God, expressing gratitude for the grace, wisdom and strength that helped him throughout his academic journey.
LASU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, had earlier announced that more than 20,000 students would graduate across the two academic sessions, including 494 first-class graduates.
