The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), through its Lagos Innovates initiative, has welcomed a new cohort of startup founders into the IdeaHub and Workspace Voucher programmes at the inaugural Lagos Innovates LaunchPad Orientation held at The Zone, Gbagada.
The event brought together government officials, innovation ecosystem stakeholders, private sector partners and emerging entrepreneurs, marking a new phase in the state’s efforts to support startups and strengthen the innovation ecosystem.
LSETF said the Workspace Voucher Programme has provided subsidised access to professional workspaces worth more than ₦366 million across over 57 innovation hubs in Lagos since 2018, while the IdeaHub and related interventions have supported more than 1,200 startups.
The orientation featured founder onboarding, ecosystem engagement sessions and conversations with alumni whose businesses have benefited from Lagos Innovates programmes.
Among the featured founders was Fatima Yusuf, founder of House of Zibima, a sustainable fashion brand that transforms plastic waste into footwear, and Jeremiah Nwobodo of Presibo Technologies, a health-tech startup.
LSETF reaffirmed its commitment to helping early-stage businesses move from survival to scale by providing access to mentorship, infrastructure, partnerships and a thriving innovation community.
The agency said the initiative is part of Lagos State’s broader strategy to build an innovation-driven economy, create jobs, attract investment and position Lagos as a leading innovation hub in Africa.
