Manchester City have officially appointed Enzo Maresca as the club’s new manager, succeeding Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.
The 46-year-old Italian was unveiled on Monday after signing a three-year contract that will keep him at Manchester City until the summer of 2029.
Speaking after his appointment, Maresca described the opportunity as a dream come true, noting that he knows the club well and is excited to begin a new chapter with the Premier League giants.
“Manchester City is a club I know very well and to have the chance to manage this team is a brilliant opportunity for me,” Maresca said.
The former Leicester City and Chelsea manager praised City’s structure and football philosophy, describing the club as innovative, well-organised, and purpose-driven.
Maresca also revealed that this would be his third spell at Manchester City, expressing confidence that his familiarity with the club’s culture and expectations would help him succeed.
“I know the demands, and I know the expectations. The quality of the people who work here is what makes it so special, and I want to thank them for showing faith in my ability,” he said.
The Italian coach added that his ambition is to build a winning team that plays attractive football while embracing the pressure that comes with representing one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
His appointment marks the beginning of a new era at Manchester City following the departure of Pep Guardiola, who enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with the club.
