Mushin General Hospital has marked its 20th anniversary with a week-long celebration, commemorating two decades of quality healthcare delivery and dedicated service to residents of Mushin and neighbouring communities.
The celebration brought together healthcare professionals, government officials, community leaders, retired staff, patients and other stakeholders to reflect on the hospital’s achievements and contributions to public healthcare over the past 20 years.
Speaking at the event, the Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Dr. Olumide Sojinrin, expressed appreciation to both past and present members of staff for their dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to delivering quality healthcare services.
He noted that the hospital has recorded significant growth since its establishment through the expansion of medical services, improved healthcare infrastructure, acquisition of modern medical equipment and a sustained commitment to patient-centred care.
According to Sojinrin, the anniversary is not only a celebration of the hospital’s accomplishments but also an opportunity to reaffirm its commitment to providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services to residents of Mushin and surrounding communities.
“The success of this hospital over the last two decades has been made possible through the dedication and resilience of our staff, the support of government and the confidence reposed in us by the communities we serve. As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to raising the standard of healthcare delivery through innovation, professionalism and compassionate patient care,” he said.
As part of the anniversary activities, the hospital organised a free medical outreach that offered consultations, health screenings and treatment to hundreds of residents. Participants also benefited from health education sessions focused on preventive healthcare, healthy living and the importance of routine medical check-ups for early detection and management of diseases.
The celebration featured scientific lectures by healthcare professionals who discussed emerging trends in healthcare delivery and emphasised the need for continuous professional development to improve patient outcomes.
Long-serving members of staff were honoured with awards in recognition of their outstanding service and contributions to the growth of the hospital, while retired healthcare professionals were celebrated for laying the foundation for the institution’s continued success.
Community leaders at the event commended the hospital’s management and staff for their consistent dedication to quality healthcare despite growing demand for medical services. They encouraged the institution to sustain its commitment to excellence, professionalism and compassionate care.
The anniversary also featured recreational activities that strengthened the relationship between the hospital, its workforce and the communities it serves.
As Mushin General Hospital begins a new chapter, its management reaffirmed its commitment to investing in modern healthcare infrastructure, embracing innovation, strengthening workforce capacity and delivering high-quality, patient-centred healthcare services to meet the evolving healthcare needs of Lagos residents.
