The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially accepted the first batch of M-346 fighter attack aircraft procured by the Federal Government to strengthen the country’s air combat capabilities and enhance national security.
The acquisition marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s ongoing efforts to modernise its air force and improve its operational readiness in addressing emerging security challenges across the country.
According to the NAF, the procurement of the advanced M-346 aircraft represents a major investment in national defence, boosting the service’s ability to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and support counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, and other military operations.
The aircraft are expected to enhance the Air Force’s precision strike capability, pilot training, and overall operational effectiveness, while placing the Nigerian Air Force among Africa’s leading air forces operating advanced multi-role combat platforms.
The delivery forms part of the Federal Government’s broader commitment to strengthening the nation’s defence architecture through the acquisition of modern military equipment and enhanced operational capacity.
