The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has sealed several shops and business premises at the Trade Fair Complex in Ojo, Lagos State, over suspected dealings in unregistered cosmetic products.
The agency disclosed the enforcement action in a statement shared on its official X account on Saturday, August 29, 2026.
According to NAFDAC, its Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, Cosmetics Division, conducted a two-day enforcement operation at the complex on August 26 and 27 as part of efforts to remove specified unregistered cosmetic products from circulation.
The operation covered several shops and business premises where suspected unregistered cosmetics were identified.
NAFDAC said the affected premises were locked and placed under NAFDAC HOLD labels pending further regulatory action.
The agency also collected samples of the suspected products for further investigation, while invitation letters were issued to the owners and operators of the affected businesses for interrogation and necessary regulatory proceedings.
Among the premises sealed were Vincentmo World, opposite Bmeck Plaza, Private Plaza; Amazon City of Fragrance, Shops 37 and 38, Beauty Promise Land Plaza; and Aza-King Store Perfumes, opposite Fidelity Bank.
Others include PP2 & Fragrance Int’l Ltd. – Design Perfumes & Cosmetics; No. D12 Fragrance Doctor Shop, Abia Plaza; and God & Obaino Fragrance Store, opposite Wave Plaza.
NAFDAC said additional shops and business premises within the Trade Fair Complex were also affected by the enforcement exercise.
The Trade Fair Complex, located along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, is a major commercial centre where traders deal in various consumer products, including cosmetics, fragrances and imported goods.
The latest enforcement action is part of NAFDAC’s broader regulatory efforts to ensure that cosmetic products circulating in Nigeria are registered and meet prescribed safety and quality standards.
