The Nasarawa State Government has announced a cabinet reshuffle, with six commissioners relieved of their duties as part of efforts to reposition the administration for the successful delivery of its remaining mandates.
Secretary to the State Government, Labaran Magaji (SAN), disclosed the development after the State Executive Council meeting in Lafia, stating that the move is aimed at strengthening governance, accommodating broader interests and injecting fresh energy into the administration.
The affected ministries include Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, and Security and Other Sundry Matters.
Magaji stressed that the decision was not due to poor performance, noting that the affected commissioners would be considered for other government appointments in due course.
He added that names of their replacements would be announced through the appropriate channels, while the State Executive Council also discussed strategies to boost Internally Generated Revenue by leveraging the growing lithium processing industry in Nasarawa State.
