Police in Abuja marked National Police Day with a community outreach and street-cleaning exercise, covering Area One Motor Park and nearby streets. Officers swept roads, cleared refuse, and engaged residents in friendly interactions, with some even assisting with chores like washing clothes.
Ahmed Sanusi said the initiative is part of programmes approved by the Inspector-General of Police to strengthen ties between officers and civilians, promote cleanliness, and demonstrate police readiness to serve the public in a friendly and approachable manner.
Residents praised the effort as a positive step toward improving police-community relations, highlighting the growing acceptance and support for law enforcement in the city.
