The Nigerian Army has renovated and commissioned the headquarters of the 81 Battalion and the Commanding Officer’s residence at Letmauck Cantonment, Mokola Barracks, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division, Major General Chinedu Nnebeife, said the projects reflect the Army’s commitment to improving troop welfare and enhancing operational effectiveness.
According to him, the development aligns with the “Soldiers First” policy of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, which prioritises the welfare of personnel and their families.
Major General Nnebeife noted that the renovated facilities would strengthen administrative efficiency, boost morale, and improve combat readiness, while providing a more conducive working and living environment for officers.
He also urged personnel to maintain the facilities and commended the Army leadership for sustaining welfare-focused initiatives across military formations.
