The newly inducted vessel is expected to strengthen the Navy’s capacity in maritime surveillance, patrols and security operations across Nigeria’s territorial waters.
The vessel was constructed locally in Delta State by South-East Petroleum and Engineering Company (SEEPCO), in collaboration with the Nigerian Navy.
The development represents a significant step towards boosting Nigeria’s indigenous defense manufacturing and naval shipbuilding capabilities, while reducing dependence on imported military platforms.
The induction of the KALI-series vessel also underscores the Navy’s ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet and improve its ability to respond effectively to emerging maritime security threats.
