Police in London have launched a manhunt for 25-year-old Temitope Segun after he escaped from custodial transport in the Plumstead area of South East London.
According to authorities, Segun was last seen near Woolwich High Street at about 6:40 p.m. on Monday, June 8. Investigators believe he has links to several communities across South East London, including Plumstead, Abbey Wood, and Woolwich.
At the time of his escape, he was reportedly wearing a black jacket, black trousers, and black trainers.
Police have urged members of the public not to approach him if spotted. Instead, anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts is advised to contact emergency services immediately.
Detective Sergeant Claudine Manning, who is leading the investigation, said officers are working tirelessly to locate and apprehend the fugitive.
“My team of dedicated officers are working around the clock to trace and apprehend Temitope Segun. It is imperative that the public contact police via 999 if they see him or know where he may be,” she said.
Authorities have asked anyone with relevant information to call 999, quoting reference number 2270/10JUN. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the escape remains ongoing.
