Nigeria’s average daily oil production fell by 4 per cent in July, according to data from the Nigerian Upstream Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
The commission said the country produced an average of 1.505 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude oil and 0.17 million bpd of condensate, bringing total daily production to 1.67 million bpd.
Despite the decline, Nigeria met and exceeded its OPEC quota of 1.5 million bpd for the third consecutive month.
NUPRC said daily production peaked at 1.78 million bpd, while the lowest output stood at 1.57 million bpd during the month.
The commission attributed the month-on-month decline to operational challenges at the Erha and Akpo fields, which affected production volumes.
It, however, noted that operations across most other producing assets remained relatively stable, with operators taking measures to maintain efficiency and minimise the impact of production constraints.
