The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast cloudy weather conditions and thunderstorms across several parts of the country on Monday, August 24, 2026.
According to the agency’s weather outlook, parts of northern Nigeria are expected to experience patches of clouds during the morning hours, with thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall likely to develop in the afternoon and evening.
NiMet advised residents in the affected areas to expect changing weather conditions as the day progresses, particularly during the afternoon and evening periods when rainfall and thunderstorms are forecast.
In the North-Central region, cloudy skies are expected to dominate the morning hours, with isolated thunderstorms and moderate rainfall projected across several states later in the day.
The affected areas include the Federal Capital Territory, Nasarawa, Benue, Kogi, Niger and Plateau states, where residents are expected to experience isolated thunderstorms and moderate rainfall in the afternoon and evening.
The forecast indicates that the rainfall may be localized, with some communities experiencing wet conditions while others within the same region may remain relatively dry.
Residents are therefore advised to remain alert to changing weather conditions and take necessary precautions, particularly during periods of thunderstorms and rainfall.
