The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Tuesday disrupted flight operations at the Lagos airport, leaving passengers scheduled to travel on an Air Peace flight stranded.
The disruption reportedly began around 5:00 a.m. after the Zulu Terminal gate was locked, preventing passengers from accessing the terminal. An Air Peace flight scheduled to depart at 6:30 a.m. was consequently unable to take off as scheduled.
The action was reportedly linked to a dispute over Air Peace workers’ right to join trade unions. Aviation unions have also raised concerns over the alleged non-remittance of statutory Ticket Sales Charges by the airline.
The development disrupted scheduled travel and left passengers frustrated, with Air Peace apologising to affected travellers and stating that the situation was beyond its control.
