The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has secured a three-year, $7.5 million title sponsorship deal with EUROMATCH, worth $2.5 million per season ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Under the agreement, 60 per cent of the sponsorship revenue will go directly to participating clubs, with NPFL Chairman Gbenga Elegbeleye saying the funds are expected to improve players’ salaries and welfare.
The deal is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the commercial value of the domestic league, improve club finances, enhance player welfare and raise the profile of Nigerian football.
Former Sports Minister Sunday Dare described the agreement as evidence that treating sports as a business is beginning to attract major investment into Nigeria’s sporting sector.
NFF President Ibrahim Gusau also welcomed the partnership, saying it would provide a significant boost to clubs and players while supporting efforts to raise the standard and visibility of the NPFL.
The 2026/27 NPFL champions are also expected to receive a record ₦1 billion prize, further highlighting efforts to increase the financial rewards in Nigerian domestic football.
