The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has identified a malfunctioning autobrake system as one of several factors that contributed to the Enugu Air runway excursion at Benin Airport.
The incident occurred on July 23 when Enugu Air Flight 4264, an Embraer E170 operating from Lagos to Benin, overshot Runway 05 while landing.
The aircraft touched down approximately 1,641 metres from the runway threshold at a speed of about 138 knots, while the crew faced moderate rainfall, poor visibility and a tailwind.
