Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is battling stage 4 cancer, as his children have appealed for urgent medical assistance amid his worsening condition.
His daughter, Shaki Taiwo, made the appeal in a video shared on her Instagram account, @kira_taiwo, on Monday night.
According to Shaki, her father’s treatment was stopped after his condition worsened, with chemotherapy no longer considered an option. She appealed to medical professionals and traditional medicine practitioners with possible treatment options to come forward and assist the family.
She said the family was not seeking financial support but urgently needed any available treatment that could help save their father.
“My daddy doesn’t want to die. Please, I don’t want my daddy to die. He’s in pain. He’s not happy,” she said.
Shaki also expressed appreciation to Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for reportedly covering the actor’s medical expenses and providing financial support to the family during his treatment.
In a separate Instagram post, Ogogo’s second daughter, Haleemah, said the family only became aware of his diagnosis about three weeks ago.
Taiwo Hassan is a veteran Yoruba actor whose career spans several decades in Nigerian film and theatre.
