Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has won 19 of Osun State’s 30 Local Government Areas, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, secured victory in 11 LGAs, according to results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Adeleke recorded strong performances across several parts of the state, including Ede North, Ede South, Osogbo, Ife East and Iwo, while Oyebamiji dominated areas such as Irewole, Boripe, Ilesa East, Obokun and Olorunda.
The results show a closely contested election between the two leading candidates, with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finishing a distant third.
Adeleke recorded his largest margin in Ede North, where he polled 35,427 votes against Oyebamiji’s 10,283. He also secured significant victories in Ede South, Ife East, Iwo and Osogbo.
Oyebamiji’s strongest performance came in Irewole, where he secured 29,972 votes, compared with Adeleke’s 10,934. He also won Ilesa East with 16,208 votes against Adeleke’s 12,280, as well as Boripe, Obokun and Olorunda.
With results from all 30 LGAs now announced, attention has shifted to the final collation and declaration by the state Returning Officer, Professor Joshua Ogunwole, at the INEC collation centre in Osogbo.
