A PDP candidate, an APM leader, an Accord aspirant and thousands of their supporters have defected to the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The PDP candidate for Ibadan North East II State Constituency, Hammed Taoreed Ademola, reportedly joined the APC with about 1,000 supporters. An APM leader in Oluyole Local Government Area, Mustapha Kazeem, also defected with more than 1,000 supporters, while Accord aspirant Adedapo Ojo joined the APC alongside hundreds of supporters.
The defectors said their decisions were influenced by their assessment of the political landscape in the state. APC state chairman Moses Alake Adeyemo welcomed the new members and assured them of integration into the party.
The defections come as political parties and aspirants intensify mobilisation and preparations ahead of the 2027 elections.
