The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured a comprehensive victory in the Adamawa State Local Government Elections, winning all 21 chairmanship positions and the 226 councillorship seats contested across the state.
The results were officially announced by the Chairman of the Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC), Mohammed Umar, at the commission’s headquarters in Yola after the conclusion of the collation process.
The declaration was made before security personnel, election observers, political party representatives, and ADSIEC commissioners who witnessed the final announcement of the election outcomes.
According to Umar, the elections were successfully conducted across all 226 wards in Adamawa State, with the PDP emerging victorious in every chairmanship and councillorship contest, reinforcing the party’s dominance at the grassroots level within the state.
While confirming the results, the ADSIEC chairman did not provide details of the total number of votes cast during the elections.
He commended residents of Adamawa State for their peaceful conduct and active participation throughout the electoral process, noting that their cooperation contributed significantly to the successful and orderly conduct of the polls.
Umar also praised security agencies, election officials, observers, and other stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a peaceful and credible electoral exercise across the state.
The outcome further strengthens the PDP’s political foothold in Adamawa State ahead of future electoral contests, while underscoring the party’s continued influence across the state’s local government structures.
